Project Services: Full-Service Architecture, Adaptive Reuse, Renovation
Bass Studio Architects provided full-service architecture and interior planning for the 4,000-square-foot adaptive reuse and renovation of the downtown Columbus building.
BSA was tasked with creating a design for an extended family: the first floor is a discreet residence with the second floor and attic forming the second family unit; the basement is common space for both families.
Built in 1920, the building’s history includes medical offices, political offices, a fire at mid-century and an origin as a residential mansion.
The project required gutting the existing interior to allow for the analysis of the modified interior, fire damage and a structural analysis of the facades.
