The project program included design for the redevelopment of two parcels at the figural intersection as an urban corner, pedestrian oriented development.
The client wished to honor the history of the area by creating a building that reflected and complimented the “Freestyle Arts and Crafts” aesthetic of the apartment buildings that line the Northwest Boulevard corridor.
The project planning was shaped around the urban concerns of pulling the building forward to the street and providing a significant gesture at the corner.
A major challenge was design of the building with four “fronts.” Each elevation has a public aspect.
This project won the Architectural Award of excellence 2012 from the Grandview Area Chamber of Commerce.
